Are the good old days truly the good old days? On today's journey, Kinsey and Anna follow the bright light into the not-so-distant past, the darkness illuminated by an eerie glimmer, and find a simply glowing story. Well maybe glowing isn't the right word… maybe radiating? Arriving in the early decades of the 20^th century, our hosts encounter the inspirational Radium Girls who unknowingly placed themselves in harm's way while working for the US Radium Corporation. Explore their legal battle, fight for employees’ rights, and the societal implications still felt today. They also learn about the ill-fated Eben Byers whose daily dose of Radithor (history’s first energized drink) spelled his doom. Looking to the present, Anna and Kinsey discuss how we use radium today, and the answer may surprise you.
